UNITE participated in the G20 Health20 Summit 2019: “Financing for Global Health Innovation & Sustainable Development” to increase political advocacy for infectious disease elimination.

June 23-24: G20 Health20 Summit 2019 – Financing for Global Health Innovation & Sustainable Development – Tokyo, Japan

UNITE President, Ricardo Baptista Leite, was invited to speak at the G20 Health20 Summit panel, titled:  ‘The compelling economic case for investing in health innovation and delivering SDG3: How can finance and health ministers create a new paradigm?’. UNITE used the Call to Action on the need to increase funding for harm reduction services that are important for the elimination of HCV, HIV  and TB among People Who Use Drugs, as an advocacy tool to engage other partners present in the room with the infectious diseases elimination.
