Gisela Scaglia is an elected Member of the Parliament of Argentina. A Professor of Political Science at the University of Entre Ríos, Scaglia seats at the Education Portfolio Committee, Welfare state Committee as well at the Family, Women and Children Committee. Responsible for the Social Department of the Buenos Aires City Government from 2008 to 2011, Scaglia was elected in 2013 for the Parliament. She is one of the most well-known politicians in the country.

Daniel Scioli was Vice-President of Argentina from 2002 to 2007. Scioli is also the former Governor of Buenos Aires (2007-2015). In 2015, Daniel Scioli ran for the Presidency of Argentina, which he ended up in second place. He is one of the most seasoned politicians in Argentina and a well-known face in Argentinean Politics, Sports and Business.

Maria Lourdes is a National Senator in Bolivia representing the Department of Santa Cruz for the legislative period 2015-2020 and Secretary of Political Training in Santa Cruz de la Sierra of Demócratas, the main political opposition force in Bolivia.

Former Vice Chairwoman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU), a global alliance of centre-right political youth organizations with 127 members from more than 81 different nations, it is the youth wing of the International Democrat Union (2016-2018)

María Lourdes Landivar has worked before as a senior executive of the Office of International Relations and Advisor in the Secretary of Institutional Coordination of the Government of Santa Cruz between 2008 and 2014.

Selected as a one of the Fellows of 2018 of the prestigious Millennium Fellowship Program of the Atlantic Council, an American think tank in the field of international affairs.

Her leadership, political ideology and academic training, has positioned her as a local and International Speaker, given conferences in several countries around Latin American and Europe as an advocate of free markets and promoter of democratic values, based on the essential principles of freedom and human dignity.

Alexandre Padilha is a Brazilian federal deputy for the State of São Paulo. Graduated in Medicine by Universidade de Campinas (UNICAMP) he occupied political occupations from Medicine Secretary of São Paulo, to the Ministry of Health under Dilma’s Rousseff government.

Alexandre Padilha is a UNITE member since May 2019.



Benedita Silva is an elected member of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. Before becoming member of parliament, Silva served as Rio de Janeiro Governor for one year. She was the Vice-Governor for 3 years.

The first-ever black Senator (elected in 1995), Silva comes from a humble background and has thrived to become a strong voice in the defense of minorities and low-income classes in Brazil.

She was also Minister of Special Work and Social Care from 2003 to 2007.

Silva is a member of UNITE since September 2019.



Eduardo Costa is a Brazilian politician who currently serves as a member of the chamber of deputies in Brazil since 2018. With a background in Medicinegraduated in Medicine that was elected as a state deputy in 2014 and in 2018 as a federal deputy for the State of Pará.

With experience also as local legislator and state-level politics, Costa participated in the Assembly of Alepa where he chaired the committee that investigated the Zika virus in Pará.

As Brazilian federal legislator, he currently seats in important committees such as Social Security and FamilyHewas also appointed, by his peers in Parliament, as vice-president of the Labour parliamentary group.

Jandira Feghali is a Member of Parliament from the Brazil Chamber of Deputies. With a background in medicine, Feghali is the Minority Leader in the Chamber. Elected from Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian legislator was former Secretary of Culture.

She is responsible for a leading several bills in the chamber that empower women’s rights and has advocate for a legal and de facto gender equality in Brazil. Jandira Feghali was also the Deputy-Chair of the Parliamentary Group on Health.

Feghali is a member of UNITE since September 2019.



Jorge Solla is an elected member of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. A sanitarist medical-doctor, Solla was ranked as the 31st most active and important parliamentarian in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies which comprises 513 members.

A former Health Secretary from the state of Bahia and Vitória da Conquista, he was responsible for fostering healthcare services in the region by managing actively the regional health systems.

He is also a University Lecturer with a PhD from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and holds a master degree in Public Health.

Solla is a member of UNITE since September 2019.



Zacharias Calil Hamu is a pediatric surgeon and is a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil.

Known for delicate surgeries in his lifetime, Hamu seats at the Social Welfare and Family Committee in the Chamber of Deputies.

Patricia Mercado is one of the most well-known politicians in Mexico. She currently serves her country as a Senator. An economist by background, Mercado has in her political trajectory a candidacy to the Mexican Presidency.

Patricia Mercado is one of the strongest voices in the country for women’s rights, gender equality and for the legalization of cannabis.

She also held positions in the Mexico City Government such as Secretary for Employment.

Patricia Mercado, being one of the most seasoned politicians in the region, joined UNITE during UNITE’s session at the International Aids Society in Mexico, in July 2019.
